I would like to thank you for visiting Koreanindie.com. My name is Chris P, one of the co-founders and one of the Editors for the site.
A little bit of background on this new venture and awesome domain name.
I have been writing reviews of Japanese and Korean music at my site wakesidevision.com for a couple years now.
Though Twitter, I met Anna from Indieful ROK, probably one of the best Korean indie news sites ever created. Honestly, if you’re a fan of Korean indie; you probably went to her site at some point.
A little later, I met Mark of Korea Gig Guide, one of the best sites for English speakers to find out about shows in South Korea. His site is probably the best site for English speakers to find out about upcoming shows.
It was a strange idea that popped in our heads to combine our talents and create a new site that utilized our abilities and focus our talents into one main site that can become the only stop a fan needs to find out about the genre.
So here is the first release of the site.
As you can see, there is not a lot of content. We’re going to be aggregating older content from Indieful ROK and Korea Gig Guide up to our “official” launch of the site. At the same time, we will be working on creating new content for the site, but please be patient.
I would like to stress that the three of us all live in different parts of the world and have full-time jobs. We’re going to post the best of the best, but it’s going to take some time before all the gears are in place.
What I ask of you is very simple:
Please support us, now and in the future. Let us know how we can possibly change to be a better site for you.
We will be working on a logo for the site as well, but I spent a few hours getting the base of the site prepped and launched as you see it now so please don’t think this is all the site is going to be.
But I thank you for visiting and be sure to keep an eye out on the site. It’s going to be something special.
I’ll leave you with @Apollo18band and their live of “Orbis”
