Returning to 3호선 버터플라이 after a couple months of not listening to them revealed one big thing for me with this group. In their long history, each album is impressive. While my favorite might be Nine Days or a Million, Oh! Silence contains some impressive tracks in the indie rock vein.

The album doesn’t have one distinct theme, but moves between a lot of different types of sound. It’s hard to imagine one sound for the band because each track does distinctly sound like their song.

Even though it was released in 2002, it does have that American alternative sound of the 1990s, but without the sarcasm. 3호선 버터플라이 remain one of my favorite Korean indie rock bands and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
