Back in February, Japanese label FLAU sent an email about Mothfly. She released a single called “Pure” which was a mix of “ambient electronic combined with artificial nature sounds.”

Now “Pure” has an accompanying music video directed by Sharon Choi. The name may sound familiar because she was Bong Joon-ho‘s translator during his English media run of Parasite.

Mothfly describes the music video as:

We made this music video around the themes of change, expansion, purification, and the process of letting go.

Shot on film, it was inspired by the woven friendships that keep us intact.

The MV is also “reminiscent of Nam June Paik’s Candle TV” as stated in the email FLAU sent over. The music and the media fit together perfectly matching both the audio and visual styles.
