I’ll admit I wasn’t too impressed with the first track from 야광토끼’s Seoulight. It sounded the melody was copied from a song I heard a long time ago, but couldn’t find the accompanying song. But through the nine tracks, I started to hear more songs that peaked my interest.
Seoulight is an interesting indie album, though her genre description also includes “electronica,” I didn’t hear it through the album that much.
The music is light and somewhat a throwback in beat on some songs, though her vocals maintain an interest in the songs. The song “Comm Ave.” is my favorite even though it sounds the strangest among the songs.
I think the main issue I have with the release is there is a lack of cohesion, even though the overall product is strong.
