Tuesday Beach Club : Forever's Not Enough

At this point, Tuesday Beach Club has cemented their sound and continues to find new fans and expand their discography. Each new release is a step that compounds their signature sound. Forever’s Not Enough gives fans what they want.

I went back to older Tuesday Beach Club releases because I wanted to compare the early songs to the ones of Forever’s Not Enough. Generally, Tuesday Beach Club has a space where they stay. “Koi” is a great opener on Forever’s Not Enough and for a concert. I didn’t realize it before, but the three-piece used different session drummers on the EP. And they stay inside the core of the band.

“Dream” is a strong transition track. The mellow vocals from Kim Yedam continue to center the sound regardless of the instrumentals. The song is comfortable with a standard, weaving melodic verse that opens with a brighter sound on the chorus.

And it’s obvious why “영원은 아니어도” is the other album single. When put next to “Koi,” it’s two slightly different presentations that highlight Tuesday Beach Club’s songwriting. For me, it’s a little slow but fits a lot of playlists. “Everywhere” presents a similar emotion to “영원은 아니어도.”

Kim Yedam’s English vocals give listeners more accessibility and they fit the song without a problem. I think this is where the band is most comfortable in tempo, melody, and composition. The final track on Forever’s Not Enough sounds like the ending theme to a movie.

“Wish” sounds like another interpretation of Tuesday Beach Club’s slower melodic style. And within this EP, the band has added a slower experience to their discography. It’s a perfect EP for fans. Personally, I’d like something with more impact, but that’s my want.
