Omjine's "Sweethearting" is Bedroom Pop and Shoegaze

Omjine debuted in 2021 and has an EP and four singles in her discography up to now. “Sweethearting” is her second 2026 single, following “Precious One.” And compared to her earlier releases, “Sweethearting” is a hybrid between bedroom pop, alternative pop, and shoegaze. It’s a song that thrives on lengthy sustains that bleed across verses.

The song is about being told you’re too much by the person who keeps charming you anyway. “How dramatic, sweethearting me” is the refrain that keeps coming back, and it hits differently every time. She pairs a light, understated vocal with distorted guitar and glitchy, layered production, somewhere between Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The xx. There’s a full music video out on release day.
