Halluci : Our sight can't see tomorrow.

I can’t remember how I found Halluci. What stuck out on Spotify was the low follower count so I wanted to hear what Our sight can’t see tomorrow. contained.

Our sight can’t see tomorrow. is a rock album. The two members, Yang Jeongwon and Lee Eunho, are guitarists with bass and guitar completed with session musicians. As Halluci’s first full length that comes after two singles (in 2024 and 2025), it makes me think that these songs have been around in some form for a while.

The songs use rock as the main foundation while also bringing in synths and programming. Across the 12 songs, you hear a selection of styles, some that pull from alternative, synth rock, emo, post rock, and melodic rock. The main single, “21st Century Boy,” is the album’s midpoint. This makes it a good place to get an understanding about Halluci.

And I think that’s one of the issues with the album. It sounds like a set of songs without a connecting narrative. Each song, by itself, is a solid track. But I never feel like there’s a conversation to the listener. It’s disjointed ideas placed into a 47 minute release.

That’s not to discount some amazing songs that come later. “Lookout” and “Ecstasy, Delirium” are easily my preferred songs. They feel more developed.

When I started listening to Our sight can’t see tomorrow. I was wondering what kind of album this would be. After listening through it all, I’m still not entirely sure. This might have been more impactful as a dual set of EPs. It’s like a couple of conversations happening at the same time without understanding the other person. There’s a lot of potential here, but a solid direction is needed.
